13 Jul 2008, 05:49 by jonathanlovattWhen browsing the iTunes Store, you sometimes come across those "Celebrity Playlists" where a prominent artist/band has published 10-12 of their favourite songs.
Now, I'm not a celebrity but I thought I'd give it a go and pick my favourite 12 songs. It's harder than it looks!
1) Drops of Jupiter by Train. I love this song, it's got a beautiful melody and gorgeous and poignant lyrics.
2) Crosses by José Gonzàlez. He rose to promimence a few years ago with the Sony Bravia TV ad. I like this track from his album, it's soft, chilled and catchy.
3) Sister Kate by The Ditty Bops. WOW! What a refreshing change! Fun, catchy with a great hook. I discovered this track and album from "Grey's Anatomy" and have been hooked. Totally refreshing and different!
4) Riga Girls by The Weepies. I love the whole of this album, but mostly this track because the sweet lyrics and charming melody.
5) I Want to Marry a Lighthouse Keeper by Erika Eigen. A great summer-y track, it's got that wonderful vibe!
3 Jul 2008, 06:05 by MoonlitSeaIf any of you have seen my charts, you'll notice I'm heavily into oldies - rock, pop, alternative, soul, folk, jazz. I'm not exactly known for being a keen listener to modern music, but, thanks to last.fm and due to external influences (Namely friends), I've been able to find some decent (and great) music. Keep in mind that the ranking is of a personal nature and holds nothing against some big bands that are adored. I don't like a lot of pop music, and I don't like the strange simply for being strange. One important fact: I don't like Radiohead.

And the song I chose for the 12k, Superman

22 Mar 2006, 15:09 by davetinAye another week. Can't be arsed to go into detail:
3rd place is a song that I played too loud through my headphones in ICT that Alex was singing every word and getting his groove on. Gettin jiggy wit it was the culprit. I've listened to way too much Will Smith this week
2nd place, and an effort from The Strokes' second album Room on Fire I Can't Win, man I love that guitar.
Anyway the song that has spent far too long in my head this week is The Scrubs theme tune, performed by Lazlo Bane unsurprisngly entitled Superman.
Well I know what I've been told
Gotta break free to break the mold
But I can't do this all on my own
No I can't do this all on my own
I know that I'm no Superman
I'm no Superman
I'm no Superman
