Saw her open for Streetlight Manifesto a short while back and instantly fell in love with "Born to Lose". I recommend that any new listeners check out some of her "deeper cuts"; my favorite songs of hers are far from being her most popular (Born To Lose, Sleep Machine, Two By Two, Led To The Sea). In general I very highly recommend An Unwavering Band of Light.
"I feel like songwriting is like any muscle in your body. The more you exercise it, the better it's going to function." - Jenny Owen Youngs opened for Frank Turner on The Revival Tour, appeared in her most profane form on the television show, Weeds, and, at the end of 2012, founded the Exhibit project, which sees the Brooklyn resident write a new song every week, based on trips to different New York City museums: http://www.songfacts.com/blog/writing/jenny_owen_youngs/
Just found this in my inbox! "The new album is SO CLOSE to being finished. I'm hoping to have a couple songs out there for y'all to hear in the next month or so, to be followed shortly thereafter by a whole dang record!! Stay tuned..."
