John 'Jay' David is probably best known for being the original drummer in Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show from 1970 to 1973. He appeared on their first three albums: 'Doctor Hook' (1971), 'Sloppy Seconds' (1972) and 'Belly Up' (1973). As wells as drums, Jay provided backing vocals, taking lead on 'Looking For Pussy' and played piano on the track 'Carry Me Carrie'. Jay has also drummed for Brenda Lee.
