• New music for this newb

    15 Mar 2007, 17:48 by AlisetGo

I'm trying to find a way to keep track of the new bands i find through the player - maybe this is it! the suck thing is that if i click away from this before posting (to find band names) i lose the post...

anyway here goes - bands i want to hear more of:

    The Constantines
    Do Make Say Think
    The Books

Amp Fiddler - the ep could also be considered downtempo
    Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra
Quantic Soul Orchestra - again somewhere between lounge and afrobeat

Making a note to look up Tapes N' Tapes and try an radio station

Another note is to recommend Grant Green (jazz guitarist) to Zack once he joins...

i was just going through our windows media player. nowadays there is so much music in it that i don't have the time to listen all of the songs and bands there is. besides also myself also my two sisters and my mom puts more music to our computer and so the music library keeps on groving and groving.
sometimes i feel a little nervous because of all the music. i feel i want to listen all of the music i can find from the library but it is o hard for me to decide what to listen. there's too many new bands i haven't yet listened and so many good old ones i love...
this morning i decided to be brave and pick some new band to listen. i chose to listen to jakatta that my big sister had recently added to our computer. and quess what, i just totally fell in love with the band! the record "visions" is absolutely great! and so i have been playing it on repeat the whole day. i'm so happy that i made such a good decicion. yei! Jakatta

I probably won't stop wondering at this song for the rest of my life. It's been almost two years now that I'm listening to it and it's getting still more exciting and moving. Seal - My vision (made by Jakatta). The radio edit by jakatta rockz as well but one cannot compare the two at all. At least I can't. It's simply unbelievable.. A real life-saver for me, literally. Combine it with Air - All I need and you'll get through anything that may come uninvited into your life. But while Air's song makes things kinda worse and digs right into the hole, My vision cleanses the wound and brings you to life more positive and craving for a better future than ever. Enjoy this one at all times and tarry not to worry about it, becoming less exciting over time.. this won't happen. Enjoy it as it's a great gift straight from heaven that's been given to us all. A gift it really is as it's priceless :)

  • A Song-A-Day - Compass And Guns

    20 Sep 2006, 15:27 by syturvy

    Song for 19th Sept. 2006.

    Compass And Guns
Another one of the Shawshank Redemption soundtrack. I really like the string part in this one. Besides, it's a very good summary of one of Thomas Newman's best soundtracks. Apart from the strings and stuff, it contains the restless piano theme sampled countless times by people like Jakatta and comrades, which might prove once again the theory that pop music is all about recycling (and not only recycling itself).

  • Странна скапана смесица

    30 Jun 2006, 16:42 by wH1spEr

Гадната смесица от сесия, жега, напрежение и ненаучваеми предмети води до ненормално състояние - преди малко обърках един суров картов за печен. Иначе Zooropa ми оправи настроението, открих ново заглавие - Jakatta, пълни ми душата!
  • Explorations in New Age/Ambient/Electronica

    22 May 2006, 08:51 by sp0623

There are so many good artists in new age, chillout, ambient, lounge, electronica, world music and fusion categories whose music I like that it's virtually impossible to name all of them at one point. Some artists are quite famous, while some not so. Here are some of my favourites:

1)Schiller - German duo Schiller's music combines dance with chill-out leading to an emotional dreamy kind of feel to it. Favourite albums are Zeitgeist (1999) and Weltreise (Voyage) (2001). Favourite tracks include Die Wirklichkeit, Das Glockenspiel, Die Nacht... Du Bist Nicht Allein, and many others.

    2) Secret Garden - Irish violinist Fionnuala Sherry and Norwegian pianist/keyboardist Rolf Lovland's collaboration produced their debut album 'Songs from a Secret Garden' in 1995. Ever since I've become a big fan of their sweet, melancholic instrumental music. Nocturne is my favourite track (which btw also appears in Schiller's 'Voyage' album, with their own electronic touch).

  • Albums........

    2 May 2006, 15:59 by pilgr1m

I suppose due to the negative feedback I've received.. this will just be an album list.. and um.. yea.. if you'd like recommendations from an artist I have.. i'll gladly give them to you. Just PM me. I respect the fact that people use the streaming music feature on and in order to keep that free.. blatant operations such as those previously posted would not fly well. I'm all for keeping from the grasp of the evil RIAA.

Here is a list of albums I'm willing to upload. If you like the concept of sharing music through please join

    2Pac - Greatest Hits (discs 1&2)
A Perfect Circle - Mer de Noms
Above & Beyond - Air for Life
Aeone, Lee Holdridge - The Mists Of Avalon
    AFI - Sing the Sorrow
    Air - Talkie Walkie
    Air - Moon Safari
    Air - The Virgin Suicides
All American Rejects - Move Along
    American Hi-Fi Self-Titled
Aphex Twin - Richard D. James Album
    Apocalyptica - Cult
    Apocalyptica - Inquisition Symphony
Apocalyptica - Plays Metallica By Four Cellos
  • Favourites

    10 Jan 2006, 21:58 by schmeep

That A-Z of favourite artists thing, cos I can't do the one for songs, too hard. I might pick 2 for one letter if I really can't decide. I might break out into song, too.

    #: 2unlimited (release the euro-techno fan within)
    A: Air
B: The Brand New Heavies/Bowery Electric (ahh, and I missed Bah Samba as well!)
C: Cocteau Twins (it took so much willpower not to put Cerrone down as well, heh)
    D: Deep Banana Blackout
E: Elastica (about the same level as Enigma though)
F: Flunk (even with that guy who mumbles instead of singing)
    G: Goldfrapp
H: Hooverphonic (I have hardly anything beginning with H)
I: Incognito (COS I'M HOLDING OOOON TO THE PIECES OF A DREAM. Told you I'd break out into song)
J: Jakatta (Jill Scott and Jamiroquai close runners-up)
K: The KLF (Ancients of Mu Mu)
L: Ladytron (So many great bands beginning with L but Ladytron tops 'em all)
    M: Morcheeba
N: Nuyorican Soul (It's the MAW with added Jocelyn Brown who just happens to coincidentally be one of my favourite singers)
