Alas, they have sown the seeds of
their past failures in the gardens of greed.
Babylon - a distant memory.
The hanging vines - a monstrosity.
Temples of Hubris with altars bloodstained,
Babel has crumbled and withers in shame.
Bloodstained in shame, wasted away
The birthplace of civilisation has yielded
to death, tainted with perpetual damnation.
Beasts will say, 'it's everlasting and haunting'.
Numb the pain, it will cease in time.
In time, we fell – as our moral compass has grasped no bounds.
Insanity, for our righteousness was never to be found.
Past adventures, they crafted mentors.
A city of freedom now demented.
Lost, misguided and life blamed with guilt.
A city of freedom shall be rebuilt
