With a distinct sound uniting hook-soaked pop and blues-drenched rock-n-roll, Hollis Brown is a throwback to an era when music felt fresh, songwriting was revered, and performances routinely inspired. Possessing a seemingly endless supply of infectious melodies and a live show that has attracted a devoted following, Hollis Brown has distinguished itself as essential in the crowded musical landscape of New York City.
The Queens-based band released their 2013 debut full-length album “Ride On The Train” on Alive NaturalSound Records, the label that launched The Black Keys, and has quickly seen its tracks featured on MTV’s “The Real World”, Showtime’s “Shameless” and the upcoming Willem Dafoe/Matt Dillon film “Bad Country”. On Record Store Day (April 19th), “Hollis Brown Gets Loaded” will see the light of day - a limited edition vinyl tribute to the Velvet Underground’s classic album “Loaded”, followed by a full digital/CD/vinyl release on May 20th.
