Diego Ortiz, known as Hepcat Helm, is a guitarist and songwriter from Tampico, Mexico. Guitar and chorus in El Gran Orgo, along with his brother, Samuel Ortiz; Hepcat Helm is a solo project, in which Diego creates his own sounds and noises that give you a rehearsal-like sensation from the intimacy of his home.
Pretty demo-ish, his work comes along with a very X Files, homemade aesthetic, using mostly pictures taken by himself, with no context whatsoever to the content of his demo albums, sometimes including text in japanese, a very distinct selection within the Ortiz brothers.
Full with Casio keyboard tempos, a low-quality microphone and sometimes shy and short hummings whenever he feels like doing so, Hepcat Helm is a very small trip inside the mind of a mexican kid reflecting his anxieties, emotions and ideas using music, song titles and pictures.
