There are multiple bands named Hand:
1. HAND are a psychedelic garage rock band from Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
2. Marc Osborne and Tony Angier from Switzerland who released Everybody's Own in 1972.
3. hAND are a 3-piece Progressive Alternative/Gothic Metal band from Sussex, England with a unique, universally appealing niche. They have been producing high-quality, intelligent, immensely powerful music that will stir your soul for over 6 years. With lulling melodies, epic riffs, huge contrasts and passionate, soaring vocals you will forever crave the satisfaction that only hAND can provide.
They are currently (September 2010) recording their second studio album, “Breathing”. It features exclusive artwork designed by Gustavo Sazes (Arch Enemy, Manowar) and will be released through Femme Metal Records.
Founded by Kat Ward and Kieren Johnstone in 2004, hAND originated as a rock/metal/electronica duo. Releasing their first EP”Chapters” under this guise the band looked to evolve and grow for the second. Early in 2006 local drummer Cris Nelson joined the band and the music took on a heavier more progressive edge. “Shadow: Word Pain” showed off the new sound, with great reviews and a new sponsorship with Mapex drums the band soon landed their first record deal with Copro Records in 2007.
Recording at Philia Studios with producer Nick Hemingway (Isor, Cancer, Desecration) the debut album “Deadroom Journal” was a turning point for the band. Receiving high praise from UK and international press, this saw them playing gigs all over the country supporting acts such as 3rd Room (Italy), Ayin Aleph (France) Octavia Sperati (Norway) and Delain (Netherlands) as well as earning them future festival appearances at Damsels of Destruction (Headlining), Femme Metal Festival and Fest-fatale.
In December 2008 hAND signed to Femme Metal Records. Eagerly working on the follow up to “Deadroom Journal”, the new album “Breathing” promises to be an even more intense force and will be available January 2011.
