1. Halfmast were 90's hardcore band who mixed 90's newschool in the vein of early Strife, Outspoken and classic youth crew style.
2.Punk band from Launceston, Tasmania.
Over the past few years, aesthetically unoffensive 4-piece punk rock outfit HALFMAST have been slowly gathering themselves a nifty reputation as being one of Tasmania's most enjoyable live acts. Their unique mix of mid 90's punk, Australian pub-style hard rock and post-hardcore has taken them far and wide across the island of Tasmania, energizing crowds across the state with their always entertaining and never dull stage-show. Rising from the bowels of the public school music system over 5 years ago, and after nearly going through more bassists than The Belchers does red cans, Halfmast have enjoyed success on many levels such as winning through to the state finals of both the College Rock Challenge, and the Jim Beam National Uni Campus Band Competetion. Along the way they have supported numerous high-profile interstate acts such as The GO Set, Stolen Youth and Ill Starred Captain, as well as supporting US punk-rock stalwarts NO USE FOR A NAME on the Tasmanian leg of their recent Australian tour. In 2003, Halfmast released their debut LP, a split release with Launceston hard rock act PMXi Turbo entitled "The Kaos LP" which was well recieved around the state. Currently the lads are into the post-production stage of recording their brand spankin' new album, slated for release 05/04/07.
