Winter is a season of stillness, when the cold freezes our gardens, burying them deep under the snow. Seeing the bare branches it feels strange that they could be green again. And the deep snow makes it difficult for the hare to run away from the young hunter, who shoots the hare and flays its warm furcoat… Yes, that's a piece of Lithuanian folklore for you. :)
Yet the wheel turns and the darkness is eventually replaced by light, brought by the raindeer with nine horns. One of the horns carries the light and the other - brothers blacksmiths, who will make you a golden ring and silver scissors. Take the scissors, cut the branches of fir trees and pine tops and perhaps you will see your father's manor, cast of silver and clad in gold…
