Third Lead Singer of Genesis Ray Wilson was initially asked about participating in the band’s remake of “Carpet Crawlers” in 1999. The initial concept was that Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, and Ray Wilson would each sing a verse of the song; however, in the end, the band chose not to include Wilson and to stick with the popular early to mid-70s line-up of Genesis that originally recorded the song in 1974.
