I got "One Nation Under" for $1 when I would go visit my girlfriend (at the time) out in Cleveland, OH. They had/have these places called "The Exchange" where you'd look through craploads of CD's & I grabbed that 1st album on Arista by these guys. It's not bad... maybe not super original but they were the kind of band I could easily watch or tolerate if they'd opened the show for a band I loved like Nothingface or somebody.
Nice to see people still comment and appreciate From Zero. If anyone is interested in what I am doing these days check this out. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/392433448/fate-accomplis-illusion-of-reprieve or www.fateaccomplis.com
@bleedthesky212: Yeah, it's not. You basically complain about people tagging things as Nu Metal and Metalcore for a couple lines, then you call genre names stupid and never say anything about just enjoying the music. So try again, jackass. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ And for anyone else, if you weren't aware, check out Jett's new group, Fate Accomplis. They've got 5 songs complete with plans to continue creating more. http://www.facebook.com/FateAccomplis
I still have the very first sample cd you guys used to give out to street teams. I also had about 200+ stickers, my high school was not happy. God that was like...2002 ? Sad to see the direction you went on...that original demo was badass ! Bet you would have had better luck if you went that less over-produced raw sound.
http://numetalunderground.forumotion.net/forum.htm A new forum dedicated to the musical style of nu-metal. Feel free to check it out, and if you like what your see, you are welcome to join. There are also other cool sub-sections included for the poster's general enjoyment, both musical and non musical.
Was a great band. One Nation Under always brings back great memories for me. I wish Diem could've taken off, but Jett was apparently too lazy to go to practice.
And I wish people would get off the whole nu-metal tag. It seems now as if everybody tags music as metalcore or nu-metal. People are coming up with some ridiculous stupid ass genre names nowadays.
From Zero is Nu Metal, but closer to a band like Stereomud, Flaw, Lifer, Pressure 4-5 or Endo than Korn, P.O.D. or Limp Bizkit. Regardless of the genre tag, they are a good band who deserved more attention than they got.
Not sure about the nu-metal tag. Nu-metal to me is Limp Bizcuit, some of Korn's work, and shit like 3 Days Grace, or POD. (gag). These guys seem to a) actually know how to play their instruments and b) there's no bad rapping going on. I don't mind this band.
To give a quick update on this band. Jett(vocalist) joined another band in the past couple of years and basically never showed up for practice or anything. He has quit the music biz. All of the remaining members have side projects. Look up FROM ZERO on myspace to get full details...I MISS THIS BAND!!
Believe it or not, Im from Chicago, and i just became a fan of these guys. The first outdoor concert I ever went to, sponsored by Q101, these guys opened, and I didn't pay much attention to them. In the last few months though I got my hands on one nationunder, and I'm super impressed. I would have to agree with the comment below, I wish they were still around.
