Biography

A three-piece group which formed in Brisbane, Australia around 1980 and split a year later. Based around the songs of guitarist and vocalist Andrew Wilson, Four Gods played around small Brisbane venues and were named after the amount of times Robert Forster says "God" in the Go-Betweens song 'Karen'. The band featured no bassist and played rather outlandish time signatures.

They released one posthumous single with the aid of Go-Betweens Grant McLennan and Lindy Morrison (the double A side single 'Enchanted House'/'Restless') in 1981, though this single is not representation of their core material based around the completed line-up of drummer Keryn Henry and guitarist Peter Morgan. A selection of Andrew Wilson's music appears on the Chapter Music compilation, Amateurism.
