With influence of the music of diverse kinds created among the 80' s and 90' s and inspired in diverse sources that goes from fantastic literature to fiction passing over the novels and classical philosophy, movies and painting; EvilMoon Project explores crystalline and brilliant atmospheres mixed in onyric images linked to the decadence and interpersonal conflicts that takes part of the quotidian of our time, employing different musical styles for each song.
The first shows of EMP officially began toward ends of 2001 in some clubs of Mexico City, such as: Bizarro Coffee, El MesÛn del buen tunar, Dada X, Circo Volador, Babel and the Diabla.
In 2001 the band carries out its first album, an independent production called “Myth” with 10 songs, marketed mainly on the Internet, with the contribution of Andrea G. in the voice and the art design, this first album joy of the acceptance of some European and American fans, mainly in: Portugal, Germany, Peru, Brazil and United States. Toward the end of the same year Andrea G. stops collaborating with the project to give time to its personal activities.
EvilMoon Project continues in the process of consolidation of its musical style as well as with the Shows in Mexico City, as in Morelia and Puebla.
In April of 2002 Rodrigo Espriella takes part in the live acoustic drums offering a different sound to the project, introducing acoustic elements that enrich the proposal.
In 2003 EvilMoon Project carries out their second production with an Extend Play called Black Wind EP, 4 new songs that takes part of a new era in the band defining the musical style of EMP.
Pronounced bass lines, melancholy and deep atmospheres mixed with diverse styles conform the sound of the band that for moments takes up again some elements from the sound of Dark-Gothic of the old school; Letters and deep voices and a musical style that moves among the cadence of the Darkwave passing from the electronic bases of the Synth-Pop to the rough sounds of the Industrial-Electronic.
In May of 2003 Rodrigo Espriella leaves EMP to give continuity to its pending projects of Doom Metal and Gothic, nevertheless the presentations of EvilMoon Project continue and begins the promotion of the Black Wind EP.
In July of 2003 EvilMoon Project counts with the incursion of Elibeth Debath in the area of Keyboards and Voice to give continuity to the female voice on the band and to define the way EMP will moves in the future.
In 2004 EvilMoon Project collaborates for “SYNERGETIC LUST" compilation of 15 Mexican bands, produced by Advanced Synergy from Guadalajara, pretending to introduce to other markets the proposals produced in Mexico.
This CD is marketed mainly through Pur Zynth / Future Synergy and other distributors in Sweden and USA such as Out of line and Metropolis, since September 2003.
In 2004 and 2005 EvilMoon Project it makes a pause to give priority to other activities.
In this 2006 the production of a new album Called “Conviction” begins, first track that gives name to the disc has been sent in the MySpace of the band,
At the same time some tracks of the albums “Myth” and the “Black Wind EP” have been reedited refreshing the songs with more dance tendencies.
The production of the album Conviction will be finished in September of 2006.
This year EMP it has collaborated with Re-mixes for Disfuncion Organica, ZPR1 and Acid Trauma.
