Eminem used a fake gun not only for the promotion for his album Encore which was considered as his last album that shows his suicidal note on the CD of it but also for a short trailer reflected at the very begining of his New York concert in 2007 in which he tries to commit suicide with the gun but fails when the gun shots a flag saying BANG.
