Visiting Memphis recently was such an awesome experience! Obviously many more legendary musicians in addition to Elvis but it is so awesome to see how his memory is honored all around the city. I just wish the city would put some money into keeping up Elvis Presley boulevard, the immediate area around Graceland is very rundown. I wish I could have seen it when he was alive and racing go-karts in the street!

His manager is such an asshole. Like imagine being the most popular artist in the world and your manager told you not to do world tour. Such a miss. Elvis have never visited any country besides Canada.

He definitely made them his own! What a talent. Everyone needs to take a moment to remember that no one mainstream really wrote their own songs before the Beatles came around. Brill Building pop is a genre for a reason. If you look up some of the original blues songs (Big Boss Man is a good example), they seem pretty flat in comparison to Elvis' renditions.

Whenever I listen to The 69 Eyes (band), I am reminded of Elvis because of the voice of Jyrki 69. It is very noticeable that Elvis influenced him. 😅☺️

"I don't think anyone in this business has had as much presence as Elvis... when Elvis walked into a room everyone just looked at Elvis... he was going through all this stuff with drugs and all this craziness but on screen and on stage he always looked like he was in control" - Eddie Murphy

Love the King but, is anybody else fascinated by his worst stuff? I've been listening to "Greatest Shit" and it's quite something. I don't think even Dylan ever reached that low. Without the context of the movies most of them came from, it makes them sound like a massive shitpost. The best part is that he was always a professional, and the songs in there were recorded before the health issues. His vocals on Old MacDonald from the Double Trouble movie are masterful but that makes it sound like he's trolling the listener. It gets worse/better when you think that Pepper and Velvet Underground & Nico were being released at the same time. Song of the Shrimp might be the stupidest song I've ever heard and I Love Only One Girl (not on Greatest Shit) sounds like farts. Somehow I can't stop listening. Help me!
