25 Mar 2011, 21:08 by TecfanTomahawk is a brand new "media player"; 0.0.1 was released today. You can get it at www.gettomahawk.com.
Basically, you add your Tomahawk-using friends via their Google/Jabber accounts, and you are then able to stream music from them. There is much, much more to Tomahawk than just reviving your loved tracks radio, but this is what I am going to cover in this tutorial.
0. If you do not already have Tomahawk:
After you have installed Tomahawk you have to configure it. The first window you will see is the Settings window. Enter your Jabber account name (you can use your Google account, or register at www.jabber.org) and your password. You can ignore the network settings for now - you can go back to them if you're having problems connecting to your friends.
Next, go to the "Local music" tab and select the path where Tomahawk should search for music on your computer. Everything Tomahawk finds here will be added to your collection.

9 Sep 2009, 07:17 by miketaoI had high expectations for Bumbershoot, with the vast array of talent and all of the positive things I've heard from friends, and I'll be the first to tell you that if you're going to go to one music festival in any given year, Bumbershoot should be that festival.
First of all, the organization was on point! The press lobby was great, stocked with food and drinks, wi-fi, comfy couches and best of all, because the lobby was indoors, NO portable toilets! Actually, I don't think I saw a single "porta-potty" at the festival, but I'll stop there.
But back to the festival. I missed Katy Perry because she was the only artists from the main stage not to allow pictures. But did I really miss out? I think not. Instead, I went to support Stones Throw's latest artist Mayer Hawthorne, a throwback to 60's soul and he absolutely set it off. Not only was the crowd feelin' the tracks he performed off his album, but Mayer and his band, The County…

6 Feb 2009, 11:53 by new_london_fireSo it's snowing like mad - there must be like nearly a foot of snow outside.
Instead of risking seriuos injury by walking into work, I am working from home.
Yes I'm actually working, well I'm singing along to my music too. God I love it.
My dog is going hyper as he adores the snow and I'm in my awesome bedroom doing my work with loud music and a big mug of hot chocolate!
Oh yay Mr. Blue Sky has just come on, how ironic.
Better get back to work, but I'm starting to wonder if it can snow much more. It's ment to be heavy snow till like Monday. Oh well, I like snow, It's relaxing.

2 Jan 2009, 21:55 by RyanCalorelAbout a month and a half ago, I devised a plan to listen to all of the cd's that I have (that are currently in cases). This was because I wanted to listen to things I haven't listened to in a while or ever, really.
The two rules were: the choices must be completely random (I assigned each cd a number and made my calculator choose random numbers - I know, it's quite pathetic), and I have to listen to the entire album all the way through. Other than that, I can add more cd's to the collection, it doesn't matter.
Since I started two months or so ago, the list in the first few posts won't be in the order I listened to them in - just a pseudo-alphabetical order. Anyway...
1) 3 Doors Down - The Better Life
- This was one of the first cd's I ever bought - long before I started playing guitar. When I was listening to it now, I still remembered the words, so it must have made some kind of impact on my past-child-self. However, I no longer like 90's alternative rock, so this was rather boring to sit through. …
