Edge of Haze is a band from Espoo, Finland who combine cinematic atmospheres, big dynamics and rich melodies in their music.

The band was formed in 2010 by Eero Maijala and Janne Mieskonen. Initially the group was a quintet consisting of Maijala, Mieskonen, Iivo Kaipainen (see: Arion), Lenno Linjama (see: Lenno) and Akseli Savola.

After some disagreement, Kaipainen was replaced by Markus Hentunen in 2011 before the recording of their 2012 demo album Mirage. With the release of the demo album, Edge of Haze built their name in the Finnish metal underground. The band played domestic gigs and festivals such as Nummirock 2013. After playing a handful of shows with eg. Arion and Whispered the band began to eagerly write follow-up for their first first release.

In August 2014 Edge of Haze released Illumine, which was a big step forward from the previous record, both musically and productionwise. The drums were recorded at Sonic Pump Studios, one of most famous studios in Helsinki, Finland. The album was voted as the Album of the Year 2014 at the UK-based site Rock N Reel Reviews and got great reception from many critics.

Following the release of Illumine, Edge of Haze played a handful of shows in Finland at eg. Kivenlahti Rock Festival 2015. At this point, guitarist Linjama wanted to focus more on his producing and solo career and left the band. The band was now a quartet, consisting of Maijala, Mieskonen, Hentunen and Savola with Juha Rapanen filling in for live shows playing the guitars.

Delayed by the band members' military and civil service, third album Deluge saw daylight in November 2017. The album was more focused on Hentunen's lead vocals than the previous records and introduced a more indie/post-rock type of undertone to the band's music. After the release of Deluge the band played with live shows with the likes of Cyan Kicks and took part in Wacken Metal Battle.

In late-2018, Edge of Haze began the pre-production for their most amibitious album to date. They hired audio engineer Onni Korhonen and began recording drums at Helsinki Music Centre, a new, high-quality studio in Helsinki, Finland. At Helsinki Music Centre, they also recorded french horn, cello, choir and saxophone for the new album. The album was mastered by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios.

In the meantime, the band sought for a label, management and agency. Two of the latter were acquired by 2021 in form of Ginger Vine Management and Nem Agency. First single from the upcoming album, Parts of Anything, was released in May 2021. In early 2022, the band supported Evergrey and Swallow the Sun on their Finnish tour dates and also played Tuska 2022 and Euroblast 2022.

In November 2022, the band released their latest album, The Convoy of Ruin.
