“Peroxide” is the second track on Ecco’s debut album E, originally previewed live in mid-2019, the snippet caused a large portion of Ecco’s fanbase to become excited and anticipate an album. The snippet version is faster than the one that was released with the album, likely for set BPM purposes.

Ecco expresses how he feels like an outsider on “Peroxide”, like in his recent interview with Vogue where he stated:

"People have always looked at me,"

Likely in reference to how he grew up in Sweden, a predominantly white country, he is mixed-race, meaning he would have looked different to the majority of people around him.

The music video for this song released on January 29th, 2020. The video features Ecco on a dinghy out at sea in a wind farm, this could be in reference to the themes of isolation in the song. He also wears the same wig he wore when he first performed the song live.
