NP-Complete is the fifth studio album by New Jersey-based act East of the Wall, released on Translation Loss Records on March 29, 2019. It is their first release since 2013's Redaction Artifacts. The album title is derived from computer science; it refers to a class of problems that are the field's most complex to solve. In turn, this is derived from the most infamous unsolved problem in computer science, P versus NP. NP stands for "non-deterministic polynomial-time", whereas P stands for simply "polynomial-time"; the problem of P versus NP asks whether "every problem whose solution can be quickly verified can also be solved quickly". A solution to this problem would have paradigm-shifting implications in "mathematics, cryptography, algorithm research, artificial intelligence, game theory, multimedia processing, philosophy, economics and many other fields".
