Biography
Started in 2015, ease was initiated by drummer Rizky Handiko and guitarist Ryoichi as a post-punk unit from capital Jakarta. Through digging up material references to form the long wanted sound & genre, shoegaze comes to surface in a rather natural way that flows, infiltrates and sneaks along with time.
Rising consciousness for the identity of sound, drummer Handiko provoked the need to complete formation. Coming from influence of the Horrors and White Lies, Handiko urges the need of synth sound to bring off ambience layering on their post-punk base music. There come Rizky Fade into the group, a synth player eyed on by Handiko under the same college roof through his solo tracks, in which turns out Beatles unites any nation more than porn.
Not having a bass player yet, Fade plays the bass as they build foundation of ease's sound. Dinda (vocalist) then comes into picture, Koko met Dinda from the past two former band projects back in earlier days of college, one of those have include Ichi also in their now-perished dreampop band, Vondue.
Lastly, Angga, an old friend of Koko from the Metal scene of the outskirts of Jakarta in Bogor & Depok, who is also an independent curator of locally unexplored black metal bands, join the troupe to complete the formation as a bass player. From there on they went to make songs that move on to live recording of 3 songs, where finally in 2018 they record 2 of their singles which have now been released on Soundcloud, Spotify, and Apple Music.
