Body Drive was first written in September of 2010 while songwriter Keane Douglas Wren was still in the Army At Fort Blis, in El Passo, Texas. It was uploaded as a video at that time under swiiftbird2c’s YouTube channel. Mister Wren at this time had to go to the Burger King near his apartment to upload the material after ordering a burger, fries, and a strawberry milkshake from the drive through windows down stationing out in their parking lot in order to have WiFi to deliver the song Body Drive.
In 2016 this video was notified that it had infringed on copyrights. The song in question is Visionquest The artist in question who sampled from this video is Nyoman from his 2014 album Lessons From the Book of Osayemi (Chapter 1)
This was disputed to YouTube when Keane Douglas Wren wrote the following “This is my song and I wrote it in 2010 as the posting date shows. The video is my original video. The party that I am accused of stealing material from in fact sampled from this video as his material was not released until 2014. I now have this song copyrighted as of today through Tunecore.” The outcome is pending.
Body Drive was reworked and had horns and a Male rapper added to the end of the track in July of 2017 which finally finished this track for release upon mastering in July of 2018. This song is now copyrighted under New Temple Productions and is featured as the first track on Dharma Street Groove’s first CD Embrace, released on the 11th of August 2018.
