Dharma Street Groove began in San Antiono, Texas while songwriter Keane Douglas Wren was stationed at Fort Bliss in his twelfth year of service in the Army. With the advent of Logic Pro on Mac Book he was able to use a keyboard and samples to create a sound that registered close to his sensibilities of his last post in Georgia. While in Georgia in 2008, Wren visited the Georgia Music Hall Of Fame and took special note of the roots of R&B, soul, and rock that stemmed from the heart of the people there. Many CD’s were created by Wren during this time in Georgia to capsulate the spirit of Funk, Soul, and R&B. At a time when Wren was risking being discharged from the Army due to disabilities without compensation, music became his fiirst means of expression and relief.
R U Ready 4 This, Body Drive, Do That Thang, Only You, and El Corazon among others were all written during this 2010 time frame and established a trademark aspect that would become the name known in 2017 as Dharma Street Groove when the first single, The In Grove was released on 04 April 2017.
