you could be from venus,
today's the day for the one's who see the light
sometimes i think this cycle never ends,
no-one said we’d ever known each other.
who's in a bunker?
do the d.a.n.c.e.
just like a paper tiger torn apart by idle hands.
we live on a mountain,
excuse me but i just have to explode,
human being being human
teenage radicals stoned & wasted.
at this moment you should be with us,
go on and wring my neck.
running faster than I ever have,
that there, that's not me.

What a night! When the entire room knows the lyrics for the band's non-singles from previous albums, you know it's a good crowd. The fact there were cheers for 'Expo '86' as loud as those for 'Crooked Teeth' was surprising -- at least for me. Didn't realise there were so many Death Cab fans in Perth ;)
The band played for around 90 minutes, taking songs from most of their career. The set list was a nice mix of old hits and their poppier tunes, along with most of the songs from their latest album. The pace was uptempo for most of the time, but Ben Gibbard went solo for a few of the acoustic tracks to great effect.
On the technical side of things, lighting was great, well synchronised with the music, and not intrusive at all. The audio mixing was decent, but overly loud drums edged the other instruments out on a few tracks. Guitars were also pretty muddy and Wall Of Sound-ish, but I think that was intentional.
27 Jul 2008, 22:32 by shattered_1. How did you get into 29? (Husky Rescue)
I heard Nightless night somewhere and I loved it so much that I've decided to download the album - which I've listened to nonstop for quite a while.
2. What was the first song you ever heard by 22? (Los Campesinos!)
I was helping my friend with a set list for a party. That's when showed me You! Me! Dancing!, which is certainly one of my favorite songs by them.
3. What's your favorite lyric by 33? (The Subways)
Oh Yeah has got a kickass chorus. It's my favorite by them, since lyrics aren't really their strenght to begin with.
It's your eyes that make me smile (oh yeah, oh yeah)
Wasting time, hanging out (oh yeah, oh yeah)
These teenage years well they don't last (oh yeah, oh yeah)
These teenage lips they speak too fast (oh yeah, oh yeah)
4. How did you get into 49? (of Montreal)
My friend recommended me the Satanic Panic in the Attic album.
5. How many albums by 13 do you own? (The Libertines)

Tomorrow, tomorrow never comes.
We all want someone to shout for.
Please don’t cry, you know I’m leaving here tonight.
Like the leaves at my feet, he is a victim of gravity.
I saw you as soon as you entered the door.
We lose, yet we want to spare the feelings of those we love.
Complication's my claim to fame.
The rain falls hard on a humdrum town.
Welcome to your new job, hope you have a wonderful first day.
I must be feeling low. I talked to god in a phone box on my way home...
I'd swim across lake Michigan, I'd sell my shoes, I'd give my body to be back again in the rest of the room...
