Daniel Cohen began his NYC music career playing harmonica and guitar in Washington Square Park, mostly in folk jams but sometimes on his own or playing along with music in other genres. But after that first summer when the weather got too cold for a guitar to stay in tune, or for people to stay and listen, his ambitions turned to songwriting. Having written songs before but not being entirely comfortable with their lyrics, lyrics became his main focus.
