Biography
DC Flow is an original funk-rock band that plays throughout the D.C. Metro area. The band’s sound has been compared to acts such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, 311, the Stone Temple Pilots, Maceo Parker, Jimi Hendrix, and Sublime. From hard rock to poppy ska and funk, DC Flow’s music encompasses a wide range of styles while still retaining a distinctive signature sound.
DC Flow‘s bassist Ryan explains, “We decided early on that our music would be extremely diverse and soul-shaking, but most importantly, true to our emotions and creative drives. We all love playing and listening to music more than anything else and it never ceases to stimulate each of us to constantly express ourselves through our chosen instruments.”
With a flair for live performance, DC Flow draws enthusiastic fans and generates spontaneous dancing at every show. The band’s dynamic and engaging lead singer (who has previously opened for such national acts as the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Funkadelic, Fishbone, Frank Black, Vertical Horizon, and 2 Skinny J's) keeps the energy levels high and the attention focused.
