With a little unexpected surprise, ex-No Limit soldier Curren$y's Pilot Talk album was my favourite of this summer and I really love it. Mostly produced by Ski Beatz, but unlike the latest effort from Ski himself, this album is heavily characterized by the laid-back jazzy beats, which go along well with Curren$y's kind-of-relaxed flow, especially of the tracks like "Breakfast," "Skybourne" and "Life Under the Scope." You may mistake me, but his music on this album is more musical and sophisticated than I ever imagined. Anyway, don't be fooled by the fact that he's a former member of the crew that's (in)famous for all those "bounce" beats.
Even though Lyfe 268-192 was already great at its release and has been a classic of our time…
