Culloden is a British heavy metal band from South Shields, England, active since 2017. Their music is largely raw heavy metal with some influence from thrash and progressive metal. Lyrically they are known for writing about historical themes.
Spawned in 2010 from the desires of 2 friends who met in South Shields at a college studying a music course, Andrew Halliday and Graeme Johnston to make a Heavy Metal band, to cover their favourite songs and write their own.
Various lineups came and went over the years, Graeme eventually left in 2014 and the band split.
In 2017 Andrew Halliday reformed the band, with Karl Moore on Rhythm Guitar, Ryan Thompson on Lead Guitar, Alex Connor on Drums and himself on Bass/Vocals.
In 2018 they recorded their debut EP Witchpricker.
Playing shows around the North East of England throughout 2018 and 2019, opening for some fairly respectable names such as Avenger. Added to the team was Stefan Rosic and the band continued as a three guitar lineup until May 2019 where Ryan and Karl were unable to commit as the band picked up steam. Coming into to complete the band was Jack Brown.
In early 2020 the lineup changed yet again with Graeme Johnston replacing Jack Brown on Lead Guitar and Adam Mole replacing Alex Connor on Drums.
