8 Feb 2015, 20:09 by Mrozikos667All right then, welcome to this new – and long overdue – exquisite, impeccable, amazing, and awesome 2014 summary. Yeah, whatever. Below you will find each and every album released in 2014 that was given enough time by me to be more or less (less, I guess) properly rated. Enjoy. Hate. Do whatever you like.
2/10, or The Worst Album of the Year:
In Flames – Siren Charms (and here I was liking them until 2011 -.-)
Miss May I – Rise of the Lion
Alcest – Shelter
Sabaton – Heroes
Texas in July – Bloodwork (but they’re fun live)
Wolfmother – New Crown
Castle – Under Siege
Made of Hate – Out of Hate
Archspire – The Lucid Collective
Corpsessed – Abysmal Thresholds
Earth Crisis – Salvation of Innocents
Lost Society – Terror Hungry
Lykke Li – I Never Learn

6 Feb 2015, 00:47 by MATI9630It's that time of the year again, huh. Time to look back at the year that has just passed and see all it had to offer. It's also time of--
Wait, no, it's February.
...but I guess that's okay. Since last.fm has stopped displaying journal entries at artists' pages (well, they're there but well hidden - and come on, I don't know anybody who would actually look for them) and since I stopped being a somewhat active member of the community, my journals had a very limited range. And I know exactly one person who had demanded it (well, maybe up to three... but if you stumbled here by chance, that's cool), so is there an actual point of this?
Let's do it anyway.
My rating scale is a bit fucked up as always. Therefore I decided to change the rules a bit. 7 (well, 8) categories, all clearly described. Simple as that. Oh, don't think of 'The Good' like 'well, it's alright, I guess'. It's more like 'holy shit, that's some good stuff'. …

This time I'll start with a graph. I tried to make the effect of the albums release date smaller than it would be if only subjective feeling would have been used to make the list. The albums released earlier in the year tend to have more plays and some times also suffer by the moving interest towards the more recent releases.
Materials and Methods
In the graph:
X axis = tracks played from the album X average playing time of the tracks in the album (roughly speaking minutes played).
Y axis = the difference from the "very good album" subjective score given by the author. Weighed towards the current opinion (positive values -> better album).
non-linear regression line fitted to data, it would seem that grade does not increase linearly when plays are increased. Also the albums on the right and above line have retained their first impression of the grade better than those below the line.
