"The Age of Quarrel" is one of the most important albums in New York hardcore history. The band, led by the eternally love-hate-bound Harley Flanagan (bass) and John Joseph (vocals), powers through 15 street-fighting-tested hardcore grenades that perfectly capture the Big Apple core lifestyle and defined an entire genre. "The Age of Quarrel" is the blueprint that legions of imitators have tried to replicate since 1986. The Cro-Mags also evolved rapidly and became significantly more metallic. But on "The Age of Quarrel", the untamed monster still rages in all its primitive glory, releasing more adrenaline today than 99 percent of all other hardcore albums.

Explosive album and I'm not saying that due to the album artwork! This is one of the most memorable NYHC/crossover records of all-time! The perfect album for anyone who wants to learn about NYHC/crossover.

I'm not too educated in hardcore punk. I know a bunch of bands that are cool, but this album and band has been a ever-going, great, kick-ass introduction to the genre since 2009.
