Crimean Chamber Choir is an ensemble of 20-25 vocalists of high level from Simferopol (Crimea). The main objective of the choir is to promote Russian and Ukrainian composers and pass through the power of music, peace and friendship between people.
Founded in 1994 by Igor Mikhailevskiy, this choir became one of the best collectives in Crimea and in Europe. Their first concert was held with big success in 1996. Since then, they were invited to all over the Europe in differents festivals and competitions: France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland and the Netherlands. The choir received numerous medals and was honored guest of the biggest festivals of the choir music in Europe.
Thanks to Igor Mikhailevskiy the audience of Crimea could hear for the first time : Rachmaninov’s “Vespers”, “The Sealed Angel” of Shchedrin “Chimes” of Gavrilin, Ladoga Sviridov, “Pavane” and “Cantique de Jean Racine”G. Fauré, Fragment of the opera Prince Igor of Borodin and many other masterpieces of choir music.
In April 2002 Igor Mikhailevskiy received the title of Honorary Citizen of the Arts of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, for his contribution to the development of national culture and art in Crimea. In November 2012, he was awarded the title of Honorary Citizen of Arts of the Ukraine, for his contribution to the development of national culture and art in Ukraine.
The choir is the winner of international competitions in Germany (Silver Medal), in Belgium (Bronze diploma), in Netherlands (Grand Prix). During the four years of Crimean Chamber Choir was voted as the best choir of the International Choral Festival St. Baume in France.
