The most underrated album in their discography, in my opinion. The storytelling and lyrics are absolutely sublime. It is a very long album, and you may have to take it in a few times. But once it hits, there is no going back!
Also love this! I was shocked by the odd single choice Babalon AD back in the days, but it turned out they picked the weakest song of the album for single release. The rest of the album is pretty perfect.
After the period of decline following “Cruelty and the Beast”, this is their last really amazing album. “Nymphetamine” and onwards are good, but little more than a bad joke compared to their older works.
the instrumentals featuring on this album are truly great, some of the best interludes ever. rest of the music also is pretty good. it could be one of my favourite albums, but - unfortunately - the vocals ruin everything. i wish dani had done on this record vocals similar to e.g. dusk... or cruelty. i especially hate the double-layered vocals. dani should squeak instead of pretending, that he is able to growl, because he obviously isn't, and that saounds like crap.
I love the Paradise Lost interludes, they feel quite grand and add to the mood. Also, no love for 'Hurt and Virtue'?! That is one of their best tracks, and I'm a 'everything-since-Midian-is-shit' type of fan.
