Biography
The performance of wind music from the 18th century with the original instruments of the respective epochs and countries is the main concern of this specialist ensemble, founded by oboist Karla Schröter. Concert Royal, Cologne is constantly trying to locate manuscripts or first prints of "new" works that have not been performed since the 18th century in archives and libraries in order to bring them to life again. The regular line-up of the ensemble consists of oboes, bassoon and harpsichord. Depending on the program, it is supplemented by natural horns, natural trumpet and viola d'amore; in classical instrumentation with clarinets and English horns, or as a duo with baroque oboe and harpsichord, with organ or with chest organ.
