Christian Hansen & the Autistics is an alternative/electro pop band that's like a mix between that scene from the Breakfast Club where they all get high and dance and that scene from Trainspotting where Spud wakes up covered in his
"Like a smartie-pants sweetheart beneath a flamboyant asshole moustache, Edmonton-based CH&A slather disarmingly thoughtful lyricism in buoyant synth-driven rhythms and bleepy melodies that borrow heavily (and utterly without irony) from hedonistic late 80s/early 90s club fare, bling-addled hip hop and R&B. Expect ebullient dance-pop edged in cacophony that drives an arrow into the bemusements, bewilderments, and bereavements of modernity. From the petty to profound, Christian Hansen & the Autistics will compell your hips to shake, feet to shuffle, and fists to pump the sky."
Christian Hansen & the Autistics! were formed in the Fall of 2007 in Edmonton Alberta Canada. After playing many local shows, doing a Canadian tour, rocking the CBC and playing New Music West, they wanted to dance. So, they destroyed their acoustic guitars, and drum kits, did the Wild Rose cleanse, watched the Breakfast Club and wrote a bunch of new songs designed to make people move. Quickly gaining a reputation as one of Edmonton's best live acts, Christian Hansen & the Autistics put on a show that entertains and inspires, appealing to both the Richard Simmons and Jello Biafra in everyone ;) They've just finished playing two triumphant shows at the SLED ISLAND music festival, rocking with such excellent acts as Andrew WK, The Breeders, Japanther and Wood Pigeon .
Christian Hansen & the Autistics were named "Band of the Month" by Edmonton's Sonic 102.9 FM and their songs "Cocaine Trade" and "Pump it" have been put into heavy rotation on the station. "How We're Living" features Edmonton based rapper The Joe.
Christian Hansen & the Autistics! are ready to tour like maniacs, but remember, they're like vampires, they can only rock you if you invite them in.
