Chico Chinoca was born in 2012, in Pyongyang. His first release, "POST-CARRINHOS DE CHOQUE" is widely regarded as the first post-tetris-nu-carrinhosdechoque-ambient-minimalism-dark-noise album in the world, and has given Chico a lot of media and public interest.
The album was recorded somewhere between Oporto and Pyongyang, and was brilliant enough to be released by portuguese record company ZDT Records. The album approaches many controversial subjects, such as waste management, praxis and oral sex, sex addiction in North Korea, death, social revolutions, football, and several aspects of today's pop music. Many critics stated POST-CARRINHOS DE CHOQUE represents a turning point in the underground portuguese music scene, given the high levels of improvisation in many tracks.
Chico Chinoca usually composes very experimental and absolutely breathtaking songs. His first single, "LIXO", did not reach the top charts, but was a minor hit among the Chinese community in Vila do Conde.
