Chicago Drive formed on January 3, 2007. It started as a jam project between Alex Pummill (Vocals, Guitar), Matt Herrmann (Guitar), and Kyle Stevenson (Drums). They added friend Brian Powers on bass to complete the line up. They started playing live shows at the beginning of March 2007 and exploded onto the scene.

Brian was let go in July, due to personal issues. Over the course of the next two months, Chicago Drive went through 3 Bass players, Casey Seiravield, Joe Sommerdyke, and there current bass player, Mike Nawara. Also, in July, they added Molly Jones on Keys and Vocals, thus completing the current lineup.

Chicago Drive is a mix of Classic Blues Based Rock, and newer, hard edged rock. The singer/songwriter for the band, Alex, was raised on Led Zeppelin, Joe Walsh, and The Beatles, and that is reflected in his songwriting.

There stage shows are legendary. They play as if every show, they are out to prove themselves to every member of the audience. This attitude has been the main reason, along with great musicianship, and excellent song writing, that has allowed Chicago Drive to climb as high as they have in such a short time.
