If you like The Horse Comanche, make sure you also get ahold of the B-sides EP. Incredible stuff on there. These sessions were clearly inspired, and this set of songs a height among heights in Chad's work.
I was in Boston a few days ago, and I saw a guy wearing a Chadwick Stokes and the Pintos shirt. I went up to him and started talking to him, and it turns out that they're really close friends! It was a wonderful coincidence that absolutely made my week.
Amen! I'm holding on to the hope that it'll become a rediscovered classic in a few years, when someone who moves in the right circles stumbles on it somehow and thinks "how the fuck did we overlook THIS?!"
Chad is awesome! He's not only one of the greatest musicians our world has ever seen, he's also socially engaged, cofounder of "Calling All Crows" and takes a stand for human rights and for equality. I'm really looking forward to seeing him and State Radio live, in Munich/Germany, on may 23! =)
