Ceri Rhys Matthews was born and bred in the Welsh speaking village of Treboeth, now a suburb of Swansea.
He plays flute and pipes. He also sings and plays guitar. He plays music with fernhill, burum and in a duo with Christine Cooper, of Tenby.
He has recorded two albums of Bagpipe music; Pibau, with Jonathon Shorland, and Pibddawns, a solo record.
