Biography
Cat-Tooth Jim, a newcomer to the Boston MA music scene (via Panhandle Creek, Alabama) got his start by re-making classic Misfits songs…with a banjo. This idea could have gone horribly wrong, but Cat-Tooth manages to perfectly deconstruct the energy and power of punk rock and uniquely put it back together again with banjos, saws and pots and pans. After Cat-Tooth's first live appearance at the Village Green in June, he has been on a prolific writing spree, sometimes recording two or three songs a day. He writes songs like's he's making a collage, adding just enough of each element to make a cohesive and powerful piece. This stripped down method of writing and recording carries over to his live performance. Either playing solo, or with his band "The Persians", the honesty and soul of Cat-Tooth's songs are a nice reminder that there are still inspired musicians hiding in the shadows of the Boston music scene.
