Biography
Carolina Clearwater (Sam Robinson, Andrew Lazare & Mat Eliott) formed in Greensboro, NC in December of 2006 and dissolved in June of 2008. Their sound was a high-energy blend of southern funk, blues and improvisational rock, which created a buzz in the Triad of North Carolina based on the strength of their live performances.
As a regular headliner at Ziggy’s before it closed its doors, they performed with Perpetual Groove and Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band at Ziggy’s 9th annual Thanksgathering. Playing all over the state, from Boone to Chapel Hill and Raleigh and all the way to Wilmington as well as Athens, Georgia and at the Whisky A Go Go in Los Angeles, they quickly gained a loyal following.
The band was also known for inviting other musicians to sit in during jams at performances. Mike Wezolowski from Blues World Order and Bill Stevens of the Solos Unit were two of the regular guests.
