Camille Saint Saens must have received a heavenly visitation before this composition, I can think of no other satisfactory explanation. It can only be described as the musical equivalent to La Gioconda. Feel your eyes prick and begin to fill as you listen, preferably at full blast. Forget the cds, forget the Yamahas, you need to hear this played where it was meant to be played, in a Cathedral.
