Hey, friends! Nice stuff here! I will definitely appreciate if you check out my band [artist]Nebulae Come Sweet[/artist] (post-metal from Minsk, Belarus) and take a listen to “O”, a new song from our upcoming album! You can listen it online or download it for free here: https://soundcloud.com/nebulaecomesweet/3-o
Secret Youth is wonderful! While I agree that all the jazz influence from Noir and partly from Providence is pretty much non-existent here, they still sound unique and fresh. One main reason is the great balance of mostly clean vocals and screaming at certain highlights. In terms of atmosphere this reminds me of the last Cult of Luna album (especially Breasts of Mothers with the dark synths), but with a natural desolation/coldness than the urban desolation of Vertikal. All songs are great, Ghostwritten is one of the best songs they have ever written.
I will listen it a lot. I am sure. The same thing I did with Providence. But... Noir is my favourite post-metal release and i love this genre. Providence left me sad. Bland record with some good parts. Well they are keeping on the sound from Providence, so I am pretty sure I won`t like new album much.Nevertheless, I am looking forward to this album. I hope it will prove that I was wrong. I would swallow my own words then.
v post-prog-slow thingy? This track is one of the most powerful and fastest tracks they have made since Noir. And this is one track, why should the whole album sound like that? That's bullshit. Listen to the samples at amazon, there are several quiet, jazzy moments there. The screaming might sound bland, but it works. And the singing is very unique in my opinion. Also - if you don't like it, don't listen to it instead of calling a band to be dead without the album being even released.
I was so excited about this CD. Then listened to the new track. So again - boring post-prog-slow thingy withouth jazzy interludes but with one of the most bland vocals ever recorded. RIP Callisto : ((((
