Recorded at Maison Rouge in the same session as ‘Chemical World’, 'Young and Lovely' was released as the B-Side for the aforementioned single.
Guitarist Coxon chose his guitar playing on ‘Young and Lovely’ as the most poignant music he has recorded. The song was going to be on the album, but in Food's opinion, there were better songs worth putting. Singer Albarn has stated: “It should have been on the LP. But it didn’t get on there and ‘Turn It Up’ did”.
