Biography

The beautiful and talented Bless Roxwell was birthed by The Golden Age of Hip-Hop. Always reading and writing poetry & short stories, the music made an impression on her at an early age: "My older brother was writing rhymes, performing and recording. So, as a little one, I wasn't just listening to all the classics that helped shape the game, but experiencing the creative process behind them as well".

Soon Bless Roxwell was giving big brother a run for his money- her 2002 EP, "Believe-In", featuring production by the Scratchismz Crew from Boston, is a testament to those first few years of grind in The Big Apple. "Combining my love for writing with such an influential Hip-Hop background, well, rhyming just seemed like a natural progression," she remembers. The 2005 self release of her first full-length project, "8.2-3.95", solidified that progression and garnered heavy interest and praise, as well as earning Ms. Roxwell a solid fanbase of support among the die-hard and hard to please hip hop fans. It also got the attention of Blackout Ink Records, which re-released it in 2006.

Having rocked stages with The Anomolies All Female Hip Hop Crew (which includes Invincible, Kuttin Kandi, Helixx, Pri the Honeydark, and Big Tara), General Steele of Smif-n-Wessun, Styles P, Naughty by Nature, Donny Goines, Homeboy Sandman and Sugar Hill Gang, not to mention Tiye Phoenix and Lin Que, these days, you'll find Bless writing her blog series, "She's So Fresh" Fridays! where she profiles female MC's and women in Hip Hop, as well as producing the "She's So Fresh" Showcases Media and Performance Series.

She's also writing and recording her newest project, a free mixtape for her fans, "#randomrevolutions", in addition to rocking shows and promoting tracks from her third effort, "Bless Roxwell:evolutions", released in 2008. Production on "Bless Roxwell: evolutions" was again spearheaded by the one and only, beat-wizard Ayatollah, however the two tracks from newcomer MFutures have been well received by exploring a new sound and is claiming new fans for Ms. Roxwell. In 2009, nearing the end of her partnership with Blackout, she started her own media company and record label, J.A.G. Music and Media, LLC, with herself as the 1st artist. To feel the full experience, Bless welcomes you to check out one of her red-hot live shows near you as she blazes her way into the hearts of audiences and listeners, or support her and other Women in Hip Hop by visiting either www.blessroxwell.com or www.wesofresh.com.

In the words of Ms. Roxwell herself, "Embrace change because as you learn and you grow, it's the only thing you can truly count on. I'd like for people, when they hear my music, to hear evolution…the past, present and future of Hip-Hop."
