Hoodoo Man is an album by the German band Birth Control. The album was released in 1972.
Tthis album was the breakthrough for Birth Control with tracks like the 'evergreen' Gamma Ray. It was the band's most successful album and it's the album that is usually rated the highest by their fans.
Hoodoo Man was recorded by Bruno Frenzel (guitar, vocals), Bernd Koschmidder (bass), Wolfgang Neuser (keyboards, vibraphone) and Bernd Noske (drums, lead vocals).
Hoodoo Man is, as mentioned above, the most successful and most highly rated album by Birth Control. It also marks a milestone in German rock music. Birth Control also provided a blueprint for the sound the fans wanted to hear from the band: groovy classic hard rock, sometimes with experiments, but not overdone. This can be a blessing and a curse at the same time. For Birth Control fans one thing was clear: as long as the band played in a form as here, everything was fine.
