Tūra & The Beatsmith by Bil Basmala (2019)
Hasan Rahma T’ Ullah known by the name Tūra (aka Solid Being), is an American vocalist, producer, graphic designer, technician, fine artist and writer.
Hasan Rahma T’ Ullah was born William Lamont Robinson in 1972 in Maryland and was transported to California in 1980. He spent his formative years in Atwater, California.
Since 9 years old Rama T’ Ullah was using computers, handed to him by his USAF father and doing technical sketches.
As Autolect he produced forward-thinking beats on a string of strong albums from the mid to late ’00s (one of which featured featured production from 9th Wonder). (Big Shot Magazine)
Often compared to RJD2 and DJ Shadow, it was clear, as Basmala, that this beat maker (who has recorded as Hasan Atiq and released five albums from 2005-2010 under the moniker Autolect) is blazing his own trail. , there’s a slight minimalist pulse at Basmala’s heart, too, and a dedication to following the drift of a song’s élan that it shares with the spiritual jazz of the late ’60s. (1) (2) Bamala, brings you a self titled album that is sure to rock your chakras! Deep-nodic tones bring you to the right place of space on this latest offering from the left coast technician. (Ghetto Blaster Magazine)
Tūra is an inner view from the sacred space series Hasan has been chomping at since May 2016 (Ghetto Blaster Magazine). And while he does acquit himself as a rapper, his voice is just another element in the sparsely decorated cosmos.
“I am engaged in life as an artist redefining my character accessing higher planes, expanding my capabilities and offerings. Never being limited to what is in front of me. This is something that comes from the soul. Doing the utmost to stay aware of the obstacles and decisions that need to be made to get to the point. “ (Ghetto Blaster Magazine)
