Ben Honeycutt (born on May 10, 1986) is a soulful singer/songwriter from the South who used to be the frontman of the erstwhile touring Christian rock band Candlefuse. Currently, he is a worship leader/director at The Church at Catoosa in Ringgold, GA. Ben graduated from Plainview High School in Rainsville, AL in 2004. He is married to his best friend Ashley and has a dog named Bauer, whom he calls "my boy".
The accomplished piano player is also a guitar teacher; and lists the following as his musical influences: U2, Coldplay, The Fray, Brooke Fraser, Adele, Gavin DeGraw, John Legend, Natasha Bedingfield, Lifehouse, Maroon 5 and Our Lady Peace, among others.
Ben was in American Idol Season 9, until he was eliminated on Group Rounds in Hollywood Week.
For weeks before the elimination aired and became official, it was believed that Ben made it to the Top 24 of that season, due to false rumors. That provided Ben with a huge fan wave who were shocked when he got eliminated.
After returning home from Idol, Ben saw all the fanbase that Idol had built him, and started working on a EP, currently announced to be released in sometime around May 2010.
He released his first single, Save You, on March 15th 2010 on iTunes.
