I found it to be a natural evolution. Sure, it's not "Child of Darkness part two" (or "Child of Darkness II either, heh) but it has enough in common. To me, something like "Lord of Desolation" could easily have come from 1973.
But yes, I agree. DOOM!
When I first heard the new album I stopped listening because it sounded so different from what I expected it to be. I only just gave it a second chance, and once I stopped comparing it to the classic 70s tape I really enjoyed it. Sounds really different, sort of tongue-in-cheek quirky in places without overdoing it, lots of great traditional doom riffage. I feel like this could have been put out under a different name after all these years and it being so different, but who really cares for semantics. DOOM!
I still haven't heard nothing theirs, but i want to ask something. I saw in wikipedia two vocalists Bobby and other guy Craig Junghandel, if someone could tell me did Bobby recorded albums with them and which albums are with him?
