Formed by three elements, Become Not is a band from Portugal with an intimate and introspective sound influenced by the the acoustic guitar and the presence of synthesizers and atmospheres.
Resulting from an idea of Paulo Baeta, its founding member, Become Not's birth goes back to 2001. Becoming a duo two years later, with the arrival of João Guerreiro's vocal contribution to the project, the band finally got its actual formation during the summer of 2004 when João Pedro joined the band with his synthesizers and atmospheric sounds.
After some months of intense work dedicated to composition and rehersals, Become Not recorded their first songs at the end of that year. At the beginning of 2005 the band started to play live and were selected to participate in two important Portuguese music contests, "Estado da Nação" organized by Casa da Música and "Termómetro Unplugged 2006".
At the end of 2006 the band finished recording their first album. Recorded and produced at home, the author's edition CD was mastered by Paulo Miranda at AMP Studios in Viana do Castelo. In March 2007 the band signed a distribution deal with Compact Records and the twelve-track CD became available in Portuguese music stores. Become Not is now available also in iTunes and Amazon.
