Here is the new video for the song “Stealing Beauty” premiering on Exclaim.ca.
The video was directed by the wonder girl, Denise Nouvion. A director by day, a singer of the popular band, Memoryhouse, by night. There is nothing this girl can’t do.
Moonpalace Record is a Spanish record label that has been releasing records
for over 10 years. They release hand crafted albums in small limited
numbers. It's wonderful to have the opportunity to finally work with them. They are releasing an E.P. containing 5 unreleased songs. These songs were recorded over the past 10 years while I was working on my full length albums, but I was never able to find a place for them on my albums. I received help from some very talented musicians & engineers such as: Nick Zubeck, Marshall Bureau, Robbie Grunwald, Chris Stringer, David Hermiston, James Bunton, Sandro Perri, Michael Plater Findlay, Ryan Carley, Dee Blanche, Darren Wall, Mitchell Girio, Jennifer Foster, Mackenzie Kristjon. Only 100 cds were made. For those interested, you can pre-order the album starting today until April 16th here: http://www.moonpalacerecords.com/tienda.html

wonderful and talented musicians. You can see the list of people

Some time ago, I had the pleasure of doing an interview with Jules Johnson for his "More Than Robots" podcast. We spoke mainly about the album "My Life In Room." The Podcast is available now.
Toronto photographer, Rebecca Wood, has been kind enough to allow me to use her photographs from her "What Feels To Be True" series for my new album. The new album is called "To Live Alone In That Long Summer. It will be released in March 2014 by Monotreme Records and Ghost Records (Italy Only).
Three years ago I began working on a new album. I think I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. The new album will be released in Spring of 2014. There are many good people to thank in due time.
It's amusing how so much of Barzin's music is about taking notes, either in your head or on paper. He's even got an album called Notes to an Absent Lover. I agree with Franciele. His music makes you want to drop everything you're doing and just listen to the honesty in his voice.
Story told to you when you were a child that you will never forget:
How my grandmother and grandfather met. The story goes that my grandfather was passing through the town my grandmother lived in. One day, as he is walking by her house, she throws an apple at him from the roof of her house. Somedays later he returns to her house and asks for her hand in marriage. There is something fable-like about that
story. People don’t marry like that anymore. =]

In the meantime, here is a song that was recorded a few years back. It is called “Sad and Beautiful World.” It never made it onto an album, nor will it have a home on the new album. So I thought I would share it with you. It was recorded and mixed by Chris Stringer. James Bunton appears on drums, and Michael Plater Findlay on lap steel guitar. Chris Stringer is on Bass. This song was written by Mark Linkous who was the founder of the band, Sparklehorse. He tragically passed away last year.
